Veteran Ghanaian forward André Ayew has opened up about his mid-season move to the Eredivisie side NAC Breda, emphasizing that his decision was rooted in a genuine connection to the club’s vision and the surrounding city.
Speaking to ESPN on Wednesday, the 36-year-old revealed that despite having multiple offers on the table while resolving personal matters in Ghana, his "footballing instinct" led him to choose the project at the Rat Verlegh Stadion.
Ayew, who joined as a free agent in the January transfer window following his departure from French side Le Havre, noted that the determination shown by the club's hierarchy and the vibrant atmosphere created by the local supporters were decisive factors that made Breda the "perfect place" for his latest European chapter.
“When I was in Ghana, I was quite busy with personal matters, and I had many options, but I chose NAC Breda because of the city and the football project.”
Since his arrival, Ayew has focused on reintegrating into competitive play, having already made six league appearances as part of the club’s intense battle for top-flight survival.
