Hamburger SV forward Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer is expected to be fully available for the upcoming Bundesliga match against FC Koln on Saturday evening, despite missing training on Tuesday.
As reported, his absence was precautionary and not a sign of any serious setback.
Head coach Merlin Polzin confirmed that Königsdörffer is due to increase his workload on Wednesday and should rejoin the group without restrictions. “That's not an issue for Saturday,” he told Hamburger Abendblatt, effectively ruling out any doubt over the attacker’s participation.
Polzin even joked that “Ransi” often has “one or two little aches” but stressed there is no real cause for concern this time. The coach explained that Königsdörffer had been working indoors and receiving treatment rather than resting completely, underlining that the plan was always for him to step things up the following day.
For Ransford, who has featured regularly this season, the green light is an important boost as HSV continue their push in the league.
Fans can therefore look forward to seeing him back in action against Köln, with his coach clearly counting on him to be part of the starting plans.
