The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the Continental Finals of the CAF African Schools Football Championship Zimbabwe 2026 will be broadcast live on SuperSport from April 6 to 10 in Harare.
The competition, an initiative spearheaded by CAF President Patrice Motsepe, continues to grow in stature as Africa’s largest schools football programme.
Since its inception, the tournament has engaged over three million boys and girls across the continent, providing a platform for grassroots talent development.
This year’s Continental Finals will bring together champions from CAF’s six zonal unions, alongside host nation Zimbabwe, in both the boys’ and girls’ U-15 categories. Ghana will be strongly represented in the girls’ division after emerging as zonal champions, underlining the country’s continued investment in youth football development.
The Girls’ Final is scheduled to kick off at 12:00 GMT, followed by the Boys’ Final at 13:15 GMT, with both matches set to be broadcast live to millions of viewers across Africa.
CAF believes the expanded television coverage will significantly enhance the visibility of the competition and attract greater commercial interest.
In addition to the prestige, the tournament offers substantial financial backing for development.
Winners in both categories will receive USD300,000, while runners-up will earn USD200,000 and third-place teams USD150,000.
The prize money, sponsored by the Motsepe Foundation, is ring-fenced for development projects within participating schools.
The girls’ competition will feature hosts Zimbabwe alongside Ghana, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Guinea, Tanzania, Zambia, and DR Congo. In the boys’ category, Zimbabwe will compete against Tanzania, Benin, Morocco, Senegal, Uganda, Zambia, and DR Congo.
With the continent’s brightest young talents set to take centre stage, CAF has called on football fans to tune in and witness the future stars of African football.
