Veteran coach Carlos Queiroz has taken on a fresh challenge after being appointed head coach of the Black Stars by the Ghana Football Association.
The Portuguese tactician arrives in Ghana following his most recent role with Oman, bringing with him decades of experience at the highest level of international football.
His appointment comes at a crucial time, with Ghana preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a turbulent build-up that saw Otto Addo dismissed following a poor run of results.
The GFA has turned to Queiroz for stability and direction, banking on his vast experience to steady the team and guide them through a demanding tournament.
Known for his disciplined and tactically organised approach, Queiroz is expected to focus on tightening Ghana’s defensive structure while instilling a clear identity within the squad.
Ghana face a stern test in Group L, where they will come up against England, Croatia and Panama.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before facing England in Boston on June 23. Their final group match will be against Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
