Dutch-Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu grabbed the headlines with a vital late goal as OB battled to a 2â2 draw away to Randers FC in the Superligaen relegation group.
The right-back struck in the 74th minute, arriving in the box to finish from a Jann-Fiete Arp assist and cap a spirited fightback from the visitors.
OB had made the perfect start when Arp opened the scoring with a direct free-kick after just eight minutes, giving Alexander Zorniger’s side early control at Cepheus Park Randers. Randers responded strongly after the break, however, flipping the game with two quick goals as Nikolas Dyhr levelled with a header on 66 minutes before Thibault Klidje turned the match around a minute later.
With momentum against them and Randers dominating territory and chances, OB needed a moment of quality, and Owusu provided it. His well-timed run and composed finish secured a valuable point and underlined his growing influence at both ends of the pitch.
The draw extends OB’s unbeaten run against Randers to nine matches and keeps their confidence intact heading into their next fixture away to Vejle Boldklub on Sunday, May 17.
