Nations FC head coach Frimpong Manso has admitted that his side is in deep trouble heading into their final match of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The coach has come under heavy criticism from supporters in recent weeks following a string of poor results that dragged the club into the relegation zone.
Tensions around the club intensified last Sunday after Nations FC suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat at home, a result that reportedly left some angry supporters attempting to confront the coach after the match.
The defeat further increased pressure on Manso and his players heading into the final round of the season.
Speaking ahead of the decisive clash against Karela United, the experienced coach admitted the situation has not been easy, but insisted the team remains focused on survival.
“It’s been difficult. Looking at our last game, we lost at home, and at this time of the season, we felt it, but then we had to let it go because we have another game. It’s not been easy, but life goes on,” Manso told Nations FC TV.
He added, “We all know how difficult the game against Karela United is going to be, but we have only one option, and that is to go out there and try to win.”
Manso also revealed that the players understand the seriousness of the situation but have motivated themselves for one final push to avoid relegation.
“So we understand what is going on. The players are also feeling it. But we have psyched ourselves because we still have the opportunity to make amends,” he added.
The decisive Week 34 fixture between Karela United and Nations FC will take place at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 3 pm.
