The countdown to Ghana's most anticipated domestic football fixture has begun after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the dates for the two Super Clash encounters between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The first meeting of the country's fiercest rivalry is scheduled for Matchday 13, with Asante Kotoko hosting their arch-rivals between December 4 and 7, 2026. The return fixture will be staged on Matchday 30, between April 30 and May 3, 2027, when Hearts of Oak welcome the Porcupine Warriors in a contest that could have a decisive bearing on the destination of the league title.
As Ghana's two most successful clubs, Kotoko and Hearts are once again expected to be at the forefront of the championship race, ensuring both Super Clash fixtures will carry enormous significance beyond local bragging rights.
Before the spotlight shifts to the season's biggest showdown, however, both clubs face a demanding sequence of fixtures that could shape their early momentum and title ambitions.
For Asante Kotoko, the campaign begins with an away trip to newly promoted Debibi United, followed by home fixtures against Heart of Lions, Aduana FC, and Karela United, with a difficult visit to FC Samartex 1996 sandwiched in between. It is a challenging start that will quickly test the credentials of the Porcupine Warriors.
Hearts of Oak also face an intriguing opening schedule. The Phobians welcome Berekum Chelsea before travelling to Bibiani Gold Stars, then return home to face Bechem United. Consecutive away matches against Karela United and Dreams FC complete a demanding opening run that could provide an early measure of their championship aspirations.
The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season will officially kick off over the September 4â7, 2026 weekend across all nine league centres and conclude on the May 28â31, 2027 weekend.
The campaign will be played across 34 match weekends, with the GFA retaining its no official midweek fixtures policy to ease travel demands on clubs and enhance player welfare.
While every club will harbour ambitions of challenging for silverware, securing continental qualification or avoiding relegation, the two Super Clash meetings remain the marquee events that promise to capture the imagination of football fans across the country.
