Ashanti Region cruise as Volta and Central record victories at KGL Foundation Inter-Regional Championship

Hosts Ashanti Region produced a commanding performance to defeat Upper West Region 5-1 in the KGL Foundation Inter-Regional Championship.

Ngozi Becca starred with a brace to hand Ashanti a comfortable lead before halftime, while Gloria Owusu also got on the scoresheet. Rahinatu Salifu netted the consolation goal for Upper West Region as the hosts sealed an emphatic victory.

Volta Region also picked up an important win, edging GFA Elite Academy 1-0 thanks to Ganyo Forgive's decisive strike. The result lifts Volta above the GFA Elite Academy into fourth place in the standings.

Central Region staged a remarkable second-half comeback to beat Western Region 3-2 in one of the day's most entertaining fixtures. Francisca gave Western the lead before Rosemond Twum restored parity for Central. Patience Amponsah put Western back in front, but Angelina Sam equalised once again before Aishatu Yushua struck the winner late in the game.

Elsewhere, Eastern Region and Northern Region played out a goalless draw before Eastern prevailed 4-3 in the penalty shootout. Despite the defeat on penalties, Northern Region remain top of Group B.
