Black Queens deputy captain Jennifer Cudjoe has called on supporters to remain patient with the national team, insisting the players are determined to reward their faith as they continue building towards sustained success.
Speaking ahead of Ghana's crucial WAFCON clash with Mali, the midfielder admitted the squad is aware of the expectations surrounding the team but said outside criticism would not distract the players.
"We see everything that they're asking for and talking about, but I don't think we're going to let it affect us that much. We hear them because we want to be the best," Cudjoe said.
She also outlined the team's ambitions beyond the current tournament, revealing that the Black Queens are targeting a place at the FIFA Women's World Cup while striving to compete for major honours in Africa.
"We want to go to the World Cup, that's my goal, and also definitely get to the final. It's a process. They should trust us."
Cudjoe added that pressure is part of representing Ghana and believes the squad has enough experience to embrace the challenge as they chase a place in the WAFCON quarter-finals.
