Ghanaian centre-forward Jerry Afriyie has joined Genk from Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah, beginning a new chapter in Belgium on 18 August 2026.
The 19-year-old has signed a contract with Genk that runs until 30 June 2031. Afriyie was born in Sunyani, Ghana, and is listed at 1.80m tall, with a right foot as his preferred foot.
Afriyie arrives at the Jupiler Pro League club after spending the previous season away from Al-Qadsiah. He joined Belgian side La Louviere on loan on 24 August 2025 before returning to Al-Qadsiah at the end of June 2026.
His move to La Louviere followed a short-term loan with Spanish club CD Lugo, where he played during the second half of the 2024-25 season. He had joined CD Lugo from Al-Qadsiah on 25 January 2025 and returned to the Saudi club when that loan ended on 30 June.
Al-Qadsiah originally signed Afriyie from Thoughts FC on 23 January 2025. His subsequent spells in Spain and Belgium came as part of a series of moves after that transfer.
Afriyie’s record for the 2026-27 season shows no appearances in either the Saudi Pro League or the King’s Cup before his switch to Genk. His move takes him from the Saudi Pro League to Belgium’s top flight, where he will continue his career as a centre-forward.
Genk have now secured Afriyie’s services through June 2031, completing his move from Al-Qadsiah.
