Ghanaian-French midfielder Elisha Owusu has joined Turkish club Erzurumspor FK from French side AJ Auxerre.
The 28-year-old defensive midfielder switches to the Super Lig after two-and-a-half seasons with Auxerre, having moved there from Belgian club KAA Gent in January 2023. The transfer was registered on 19 August 2026.
Owusu played 66 Ligue 2 matches for Auxerre, scoring once and providing three assists, before helping the club win the French second tier in the 2023-24 season. He also made 57 Ligue 1 appearances, adding one goal and three assists.
Before his move to France, Owusu spent four seasons with Gent, where he made 77 appearances in the Belgian top flight. He won the Belgian Cup with the club in 2022 and featured in European competition, including the Europa League and Conference League.
The midfielder began his senior career in France with Lyon and spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Sochaux. He subsequently returned to Lyon before joining Gent in July 2019 for a reported €1m.
Owusu has also featured on the international stage during the 2026 World Cup, making three appearances. His arrival gives Erzurumspor a midfielder with experience in Belgium’s top division, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, as well as European football.
