Six of the accused persons in connection with the murder of the two police men at Kasoa Budumburam in the Central region have been set free by the Kaneshie District Court.
According to prosecution, based on latest development, charges against the six have been dropped leaving only Eric Kojo Duah who will be standing trial for the murder of the two police men.
Appearing before the district court, the prosecutor, Sylvester Asare said the charges proffered against the six accused persons were dropped since no evidence have been found against them in connection with the murder of Sgt. Michael Dzamesi, a service driver, and L/Cpl. Awal Mohammed
A new charged sheet was therefore presented to the court proffering fresh charges against Eric Kojo Duah, 3news.com’s Godfred Tanam reported.
Isaac Amissah, Ibrahim Zakaria, Isaac Mensa, Oblitey Commey, Victor Yire and Fatawu Ahmed will have to go through the necessary documentations to see their exit from the grips of the police.
Lance Cpl Mohammed Awal and Sergeant Michael Dzamesi of the Kasoa MTTD were shot dead in line of duty on August 28 in afternoon.
Three suspects were arrested few hours after the incident while the key suspect, Eric Duah, was declared wanted by the Police.
He was subsequently arrested at the Atimpoku Bridge while trying to escape to the Volta Region.
