The 470MW Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan currently located in Sekondi in the Western Region has commenced power production utilizing Ghana’s indigenous Natural Gas, Karpowership Ghana Company Limited has announced.
The powership relocated from the Tema Harbour to the Western Region in August in a government stratey to make use of natural gas from the western enclave.
It was to ultimately save the country millions of dollars annually.
The commissioning was completed on Friday, September 6.
Ghana National Gas Company assured last month that there will be sufficient gas for consistent supply.
