The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, has called on the National Media Commission to ensure that one George Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, does not appear on media programmes.
“We also call on the Ghana Psychology Council to take appropriate action against him.”
These were contained in a statement issued by Madam Morrison on Friday regarding proclamations attributed to counsellor-cum-pastor and said to have been made on an Adom TV show.
Counsellor Lutterodt had suggested on the programme that rape victims enjoy the act despite resisting initially.
But this has received wide condemnation from many including ministers of state.
Rape and violence against women is not something we should joke or toy with. We need to develop a more robust environment for protecting our wives, daughters, sisters and mothers. https://t.co/Fr7Vk9xW9s

An online petition is also gathering steam to have the marriage counsellor sanctioned.
The Gender Minister described his statements as “malignant”.
“His beliefs on rape is disgusting and he is a threat and danger to the general public.
“We therefore call on all well-meaning Ghanaians to join hands and condemn the act.
“We also call on him to unreservedly retract his unsubstantiated and insensitive statement and apologise to the general public.”
