The Bureau of Public Safety has expressed concerns over recent reports of military grade grenade explosion at South La Beach in Accra.
The Bureau is calling on all the other security agencies to aid the government and the police to carry out thorough investigation into the explosion.
“We are indeed worried over this development and it’s possible impact on public safety assurance, especially in the lead to election 2020. With [political] vigilantism still holding potent place in our partisan politics largely hinged on brawl for profit”.
Cautioning the public against the explosion, the police in an August 10 statement said it had become necessary because of an explosion which caused injuries to four children who were playing along the La Beach on August 5.
All four children have so far been treated and discharged, according to the statement.
