The National Labour Commission (NLC) has secured an interlocutory injunction against the intended strike action of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA).
Executive Secretary of the Commission Ofosu Asamoah secured the injunction after filing an ex parte motion at the High Court on Friday, September 18.
By the order given by Justice Frank Aboadwe Rockson, members, executives, agents, servants and employees of GRNMA are restrained from embarking on the intended strike action on Monday, September 21.
The order will last 10 days.
On Thursday, September 17, National President of GRNMA Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo announced the intention by members to withdraw their services from Monday after government failed to show commitment in meeting their demands as regards their conditions of service.
She indicated that government had failed to approve the conditions of service for over 82,000 of their members.
She also raised issues with non-payment of the allowances for frontline health workers and insurance, which were promised as part of incentives in the fight against Covid-19.
