After 9 months of no games, the 2021 Ghana Women Premier league season commenced on Saturday, January 16 with a lot of excitements at each centers.
Berry Ladies kickstarted the southern zone with an electrifying performance over Immigration ladies. Defeating the visitors in a 5 goal thriller.
Eugenia Tetteh pulled a masterclass performance, capping it off with a brace.
Defending champions Hasaacas Ladies picked a win when the played away to Ladies Strikers. Veronica Appiah Appiah’s brace was enough for Dooo ladies.
Supreme Ladies on the other hand also registered their first win in the league with a dramatic comeback, defeating Prisons Ladies at the Sunyani Coronation park.
Pearlpia Ladies were held to a 1-1 draw by Fabulous Ladies with goals from former Black Queens player,Agnes Aduako for the away side and Bassira Alhassan for the Northern giants.
Priscilla Okyere scored the first goal in the 6th minute as Two-time Ghana women’s premier league champions Ampem Darkoa ladies managed to a pick a vital away point when they clashed with Kumasi Sports Academy at the Ejisu park.
Mukarama Abdullai registered the first Hatrick of the season in Northern Ladies 3-1 victory over Ashtown ladies.
Two fixtures were postponed from the opening weekend to a midweek fixture.
The games between Police Ladies and Thunder Queens schedule for the McDan La Town Park and Soccer Intellectual and Sea Lions Ladies FC scheduled for the Adu Yaw- Asassan Park were all rescheduled to Wednesday 20th January 2021.
These changes were made as a result of delayed Covid 19 test results of some of the clubs involved.
