Kwansema Edith Arthur, from the Central region, won the most eloquent contestant of the night. Her presentation and fluency warmed the audience and judges.
20-year-old Kwansema educated the audience on the history of the slave trade and how our forefathers were exploited and used for hard labour. Their exploitations established marital relationships between the Europeans and people of the coast, which borne foreign names for the natives. Unlike the other ethnic groups, the Central Region is teeming with exotic names like Johnson, Newton, Brown and many more.
She thrilled the audience with some beautiful landmarks and prominent personalities in the central region. The region boasts of the best secondary schools that produced notable figures, including renowned blogger Ameyaw Debrah. The late former Vice-President Amissah Arthur and late former President John Evans Atta Mills are also from the Central Region.
Wedaga, Sarfoa and Akosua were among the top four to be elected
for the most eloquent category. Wedaga charmed the panel of judges with her educative piece on the history of the famous crocodiles in the Upper East Region. Akosua from the Oti Region was articulate and persuasive as she exhibited the diverse tribal customs in her region. Ashanti Region’s representative, Sarfoa, also spoke well as she gracefully displayed the royal Kete dance of her people.
