Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong is excited about the prospect of Chris Hughton becoming the next Ghana coach.
“Chris [Hughton] was always one for regular club football. I’m super excited to hear he’s being considered as Ghana’s head coach. That will be awesome!,” Frimpong tweeted.
Hughton has been linked with the Black Stars job after Milovan Rajvac was sacked a week after Ghana’s humiliating exit from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Premier League coach arrived in Ghana on Friday to meet officials over the top job.
According to reports, the government responsible for the salary of the Black Stars coach has backed Hughton, but the Ghana Football Association does not believe him.
The London-born former Republic of Ireland international has Ghanaian blood through his father.
