Former Black Stars defender Habib Mohammed has backed Otto Addo to be the next Ghana coach as he believes the former Dortmund winger will succeed, but only if no one interferes with his job.
The Ghana Football Association are working on appointing Milovan Rajevac’s successor.
And the Dortmund assistant coach has emerged as the favourite. Otto Addo had a meeting with GFA officials, including President Kurt Okraku in Germany over the job.
“I played with Otto Addo in the 2006 World Cup and if the GFA will allow him he can work,” Habib told Onua Sports.
According to Habib, who played for King Faisal and AshantiGold, he witnessed interference first-hand during his time with the senior national team.
“Ratomir Djukovic left his post as the head coach of the Black Stars after the Germany 2006 world cup because of interference from some members of the GFA,” he revealed.
Black Stars return to action in late March for the crucial World Cup play-offs tie against Nigeria.
