Twenty-seven schools from 11 districts in the Western Region are geared up for the Connect-Cowbell Western Best Brain Competition, which has been launched in Takoradi.
Regional Manager for Connect FM Ransford Nana Osei Asare called on the business community to take advantage of the opportunity the platform is creating to promote their businesses.
The Connect-Cowbell Western Best Brain Competition is a quiz competition among selected Junior High Schools in the areas of Science, Mathematics, English and general knowledge.
The competition, which began with an initial number of 27 schools from two municipalities – the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Area and the Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal in 2021 – has now increased in 48 schools in 11 out of the 14 districts of the Western Region.
A sponsor, Cowbell Milk, has also now become a full partner of Connect FM for the competition.
Launching this year’s competition, Regional Manager for Connect FM Ransford Nana Osei Asare says he expects this year’s contest to be very competitive and called on the business community to take advantage of the advertising opportunities it provides.
“The scope of the competition has widened as this year we have schools from 11 districts compared to last year when we dealt with only 2 districts. [A] bell system has also been instituted to promote fairness. We still need more support, so anybody or corporate institution who is interested in getting unto the competition, we are open for discussion in other to be able to take this competition to the next level.”
Sandra Obaayaa Opoku, who represented the Brands Manager for Cowbell, expressed the excitement of the brand to partner in the competition.
“Cowbell is glad to come on board, Cowbell is here to support you and it is will not only be for today for 2022. We pray for more grace, long life and strength to keep going in the years ahead.”
There were solidarity messages from the Wassa East Education Director and the Mpohor District Chief Executive who represented the Western Region Minister.
These distinguished guests were grateful to Connect FM for coming up with such a quiz competition.
Some of the students spoke to the news team expressed their readiness to clinch the ultimate prize.
“We are very optimistic about winning this trophy. We are winning because we want the bragging right. We are poised for action. We are the defending champions.”
All participating schools will receive packages with the best students receiving laptops, money and products from Cowbell.
