The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) has praised Benjamin Azamati and his teammates for their outstanding performances this season.
Azamati last month set a new national record in 100m with a 9.90s run at the 2022 Texas Relays.
In a statement, the GAA said, “The Ghana Athletics Association executive board acknowledges and complements the significant and historical performances of Ghanaian athletes who have since the beginning of the season put up splendid performances in preparation for the Commonwealth Games this year, African Games in 2023 and the Olympics in 2024.
“The GAA particularly hails the record-breaking and blazing feat of Benjamin Kwaku Azamati (100m – 9.90secs) Joseph Amoah (Indoor 200m – 20.57secs), Alex Amankwah (Indoor 800m – 1:46.47mins), Yakubu Ibrahim (Indoor 60m hurdles – 7.84secs), Abigail Kwarteng (Indoor High Jump 1.83m) who set new national records in 2022.”
“GAA also commends Jacqueline Pokuaah (Triple Jump 13.58m), Deborah Acqua (Long Jump 6.78m[w]), Jeff Hammond (Long Jump 7.80m [w]), Latifah Ali 100m 11.58[w]) and all home-base athletes who have demonstrated enthusiasm in Zone I, II, and III competitions organized by the Association especially, Daniel Otibo 48.8sec 400m (on grass athletics oval), Fuseini Ibrahim 10.70 secs 100m (on grass athletics oval) and, Benjamin Numo 58.80m javelin (on grass athletics oval).”
The GAA lauds you and says “your dedication to your chosen sport and consistent performances is sterling. Your steady improvement has seen you set remarkably new national records making you household names and influencing the athletics brand”
“Ghana Athletics continues to encourage all our athletes and their respective coaches to keep working hard.”
