Ghanaian centre-back, Maxwell Woledzi, has completed a permanent switch from Dutch side Nordsjaelland to Portuguese outfit Vitoria SC on a three-year deal.
The 20-year-old is expected to initially join the ‘B’ team where he is expected to prove himself to earn a shot at the first team.
Vitoria holds full economic rights of the player for €100,000 and Nordsjaelland has a 25% share in profits from a future sale of the youngster.
In an interview on the club’s website, Woledzi said: “I chose Vitória because I believe it is the best step for my development, that’s why I’m here. When I heard about Vitória’s interest, I went to research the club, its history, and I quickly realized that it is a club that bets on young players.”
“I also looked at the example of Abdul Mumin, who is a player I really like, like an older brother, who has evolved a lot since he arrived in Guimarães. I also saw that they have very devoted fans, and how they support the team that will push me even more. I want the fans to see that I am a player who gives everything for this emblem.”
“I’m good with the ball at my feet, I’m a very physical player, very passionate about the game. I am a very committed player and I am ready to give everything for Vitória. I can’t wait to meet everyone and play in this jersey,” he added.
Woledzi was a part of Nordsjaelland since 2019. He made 24 appearances for the club in all competitions last season.
