Coach David Duncan has been relieved of his duties at Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC after both parties agreed to sever ties.
The decision came just four months after the 59-year-old’s appointment to replace Umar Rabi ahead of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
The experienced gaffer managed five league games during his time at the club but lost four of them and recorded just a win.
According to the club, based on current “circumstances”, the time is right to part ways with the former Hearts of Oak head coach.
“Medeama Sporting Club and Head Coach David Duncan today parted company on mutual ground.
“Duncan joined the Mauve and Yellow in September 2022, signing a one-year contract.
“However, circumstances mean both parties have reached an agreement to go separate ways after four months.
“The experienced gaffer supervised five Ghana Premier League matches during his tenure.
“On behalf of everyone at Medeama SC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to David Duncan for his efforts during his time with the club and wish him well in his future endeavour.
“There will be no further comment.” an official statement read on Tuesday.
Medeama are currently experiencing one of their worst runs in the Ghana Premier League with just a win in their last seven matches. The Tarkwa-based side lie in the bottom half of the league log and will battle with Accra Lions in their next match on New Year’s day.
Umar Rabi is expected to take charge until a substantive coach is appointed.
