A Presidential staffer Dennis Miracles Aboagye has stated that communicators of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are telling the people of Assin North that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is seeking to a pass a law in support of homosexuality hence he needs more numbers in Parliament to do so.
He says the NDC is telling the people to vote for James Gyakye Quasyon in order to prevent the president from getting the numbers in Parliament to do so.
Speaking on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday June 3, he stated that it is false that the president has such intentions.
“The NDC in their house to house and door to door campaign are telling the people that it is Nana Akufo-Addo who has sacked Gyakye Quayson because he is trying to pass an LGBTQI law for which he needs the numbers so they should let Gyakye Quayson go back to Parliament and block that.
“Let me tell the people of Assin North that it is not true, Nana Akufo-Addo hasn’t presented any law to parliament either for or against LGBTQI.”
The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) on Wednesday, May 31 announced that the much-anticipated by-election in the Constituency will be held on Tuesday, June 27.
