In a significant development in healthcare, Health Minister Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye has pledged to expedite the clearance of Global Fund medications that have been stuck at the ports for over a year.
This commitment follows threats from the Global Fund to halt the supply of crucial medications, including treatments for malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS, to Ghana. Dr Okoe-Boye assured that these essential medicines will be cleared and made available soon.
High Court Admits Secret Recording in Ambulance Purchase Trial
In the ongoing Ambulance Purchase Trial, the high court has admitted a secret recording as evidence.
The recording features a conversation between Attorney-General, Godfred Dame, and the third accused, Richard Jakpa.
During his testimony, Jakpa alleged that Dame discussed plans to imprison Minority Leader Dr Ato Forson to facilitate a by-election. The Attorney General’s office, however, has stated that it is not concerned about these revelations.
The case will resume in court on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
