Exit of an African, but Also a World Icon
[Ghanaian Chronicle]For the youth of Ghana, who were in what was the equivalent to Senior High School in the early fifties till the mid-sixties, Nelson Mandela's picture appeared daily in Ghanaian dailies, and we all knew "his palaver". There was the "Pan African", a political union whose zeal was to remove the "apartheid regime", the ruling minority of "whites" in South Africa, and replace it with a humane, universal regime, but through the use of force.
