Total Petroleum Ghana Limited has opened a new service station in Tema as part of the company’s strategy to develop its operations in the oil marketing industry.
Momar Nguer, Vice President for Total Africa and Middle East who was on a two-day official visit to Ghana, said the company has constantly provided quality products and services to its customers, across the country.
“In order for the Total to deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction by operating according to standards of ethics and business conduct, there was a need for making significant strategic investments.â€
Mr. Nguer said the company has introduced several successful products and services in response to the ever-changing trends in the needs of its customers.
He added that the company is the only oil marketing company to have introduced a mobile laboratory, which travels across the country carrying out quality and safety checks at their service stations.
Ben Dagadu, Deputy Minister for Energy and Petroleum, said the Ministry has been following developments in the downstream sector, which is expanding rapidly with Total as one of the forerunners.
He said the government remains committed to supporting both local and foreign investors, adding that: “Ghana continues to be one of the leading destinations for investment on the African continentâ€.
Mr. Dagadu said the government is aware of the critical role the downstream sector plays, and has put in place measures that will strengthen their technical, managerial and financial capabilities.
He said government is working to resource the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and in talks with Petro Saudi to come onboard as a strategic partner to revamp TOR.
Mr. Dagadu urged companies to take advantage of the opportunities associated with Ghana’s status as an oil producing country to create more employment for the youth.
