As part of its national branch expansion programme and its commitment to bringing further convenience to the doorsteps of customers and the general public, Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited has extended its footprints to the Central Region by opening its 27th branch in Cape Coast.
This brings to seven the number of country’s regions in which GTBank operates. The others are the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Western, Volta and the Northern Regions.
The newly-opened Cape Coast branch which is located at F87/3 Kotokuraba Road, near the Kotokuraba Market and toward Mfantsipim School, offers universal banking services, efficient in-branch Internet banking platform, and fast and reliable money transfer services -- just like all other GTBank branches.
Customers and the general public in and around Cape Coast or from elsewhere in the Central Region can also make airline e-ticket reservation payments (British Airways, Iberia, and Starbow), ECG and Ghana Water bill payments, mobile money transactions, and VFS Visa payments at the branch
Aside from its normal banking hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm, the branch is fitted with a 24-hour ATM that enables Visa, MasterCard, Cirrus, Maestro and China Union Pay cards transactions.
Commenting on the opening of the Cape Coast branch, the Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited Mr. Lekan Sanusi stated that: “It is part of our growth strategy and desire of the bank to bring its services closer to customers and non-customers across the length and breadth of the country.
“We believe that Cape Coast, potentially, has as much to offer the bank as we intend to offer the people in the region,†he added.
The Head of Corporate Affairs of the Bank, Mr. Ben Ackah-Mensah, also expressed his delight about GTBank’s presence in Cape Coast --and stating that aside from the bank increasing its customer base, it is clearly an opportunity to further boost the brand visibility and equity in the country through provision of its innovative products and excellent service delivery to students, business people, traders and the general public in the region.
He further stated that, “We clearly understand the diverse nature and history of the region and that our entire banking system, especially our robust Internet Banking platform, could be hugely beneficial to customers thereâ€.
Just recently, Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited introduced an online third party transfer service, ideal for cross-regional payments. Once profiled on the GTBank Internet Banking Platform, customers can conveniently transfer money from their cedi account to another cedi account, or a beneficiary’s cedi account in another bank nationwide, from the comfort of their homes and offices. This is the first fully-automated online transfer service in Ghana; meaning that there is no in-house staff manually processing or forwarding transfer requests to third parties.
Customers’ online transfers are instantly channeled directly through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system through GhIPPS and finally to the recipient bank.
Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, within eight years of its inception has grown from strength to strength, emerging Best Bank for two consecutive years (in 2009 and 2010) and winning numerous key category awards. It has been named by KPMG (2012) as the “Most Customer-focused Bank†in the country and is listed among the Ghana Club 100 companies, amongst other laurels.
The bank plans to further increase its footprint to the remaining regions as soon as it is practicable.
