Effective Monday July 14, 2014, consumers of petroleum products would have to pay at least 20 percent at the pumps, according to figures from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
The price of petrol (premium) has gone up by 23.08 percent. This means a litre of the commodity, which currently sells at GH¢2.73 per litre, from Monday, will sell at GH¢3.36.
Kerosene’s price has shot up by 23.75 percent and diesel by 22.01 percent.
Diesel currently sells at 268.00 pesewas per litre and the increment means that the new price will be 327.00 pesewas.
The price of premix fuel has also increased by 25.60 percent translating to GH¢1.57 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will from Monday increase by 15.68 percent, up from GH¢3.32 per litre.
