GDS Africa, an IT company that works with corporations to align their ICT policies with their business objectives, has said it is committed to doing business in the country despite the current economic challenges.
Speaking at a recent Meet-the-Client event in partnership with HP, a specialised partner, in Accra, GDS’s General Manager Horace Saizonou said it is important that the company will always stand by its clients.
“Our commitment to continue investing and perfecting ourselves to serve Ghana still holds. Tough times don’t last, tough people do. This is not the time to retreat because of economic challenges; we believe that this is an issue that will be resolved by the government,†he said.
As an HP specialised partner, GDS Africa not only supplies and installs HP products but also renders after-sales services to its clients.
“We started GDS with one vision, which was to invest an inpost-salesteam and here we are today. Our core business is Maintenance and Service Level Agreement, System Integration, Consultancy and Disaster Recovery Solutions.â€Â
He explained that the Meet-the-Client annual event is done to show commitment to clients and also for customers to get learn about the new services being offered by HP and how they can positively impact their businesses.
Sean Solanke, Lead Solution Architect, Technology Services Support for HP -- Greece and Africa, said the company and GDS have been partners for about seven years; and through those years GDS has moved from an HP preferred partner to becoming a Specialised Service Partner.
“GDS understands the customer very well, what makes them tick, and are able to provide them with quality post sales services to keep business running optimally.â€Â
Mr. Solanke explained that despite having an official office here in Ghana, having partners is part of HP’s global practice of investing heavily in its channels.
“This is because we have found that it is an effective way of extending our reach. So every HP partner you come across is an extension of HP reflecting the core values -- able to extend our reach across the market and able to reach even the remotest part of the country.â€Â
Mr. Saizonou noted that despite having other partners like CISCO, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, and Dell, having a partnership with HP has been very positive on their business and relationship with their clients.
“Our partnership with HP services is key to our business because of the way it is structured and segmented into specialisations. We will continue strengthening the partnership and growing our team to support the market in its post-sales challenges.â€Â
Mr. Solanke also added that the future for the partnership is bright. “Ghana is a very strong emerging market and this is the age of technology. As we look at what our customer requirements are across the Ghanaian landscape, it becomes very important that we have a specialised partner like GDS to carry HP forward.â€Â
