Unicredit Ghana says it has invested GH₵1.6million to upgrade its information and communication infrastructure (ICT) as part of efforts to meet the growing needs of customers.
Chief executive officer of the company Samuel Sakyi-Hyde disclosed this at the annual Focus Group Meeting with selected customers in Accra, organised to dialogue on issues pertaining to business operations.
Speaking to the B&FT on the frontline of the event, which falls under Unicredit’s customer services month, Saki-Hyde said, “We have organised this meeting with our customers as part of our mission to build their capacity. We also want to help them focus on strategic areas which will enable them to grow their businessesâ€Â.
When completed, the ICT infrastructure is expected to reduce cost and time of doing business, and as well offer convenience to customers.
Under the theme “our customer delight, our passionâ€Â, the meeting was also to afford customers an opportunity to interact with management to ascertain their concerns. Among some of the key concerns raised were those pertaining to collateral, loans and interest on banking services.
The CEO recounted that feedback from customers, especially in the service sector, is core to growth and development of the sector as it gives an indication of how customers feel about services offered to them.
“Feedback from customers in the service industry is one of the key factors that help us improve services to customers,†he said.
He added that Unicredit will add nine new branches to the current eleven before the year-ending, as part of efforts to expand banking service to the doorsteps of customers.
