The Kuburah Diamonds Foundation (KDF), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the empowerment of girls and young women, has held its inaugural Intentional Women Conference (IWC), igniting next-generation female leaders in the northern region.
The conference, held under the galvanising theme: ‘Educate, Empower, Trailblaze,’ convened about 500 young females and inspirational resource persons at the ‘Red Clay’ in Tamale, uniting them behind the critical mission of boosting female capital.
Founder of KDF, Adiza Ibrahim, spearheaded the conference, attracting a diverse and enthusiastic student audience from the Tamale Secondary School, Northern School of Business, Islamic Senior High, Nuriya Senior High, and Nanton Senior High School to absorb crucial lessons.
The young female students were joined by more than 100 determined women and supportive men from the Tamale Metropolis, creating a vibrant ecosystem for mentorship.
The conference drew its inspiration from Adiza’s motivational book, “Hey Diamond! Becoming an Intentional Young Lady”, which she launched a year ago.
The event acted as a crucial platform, seamlessly transferring vital knowledge on intentionality, purpose, and entrepreneurship from seasoned industry speakers directly to the next generation of leaders.
Trailblazers Deliver High-Impact Insights
A dynamic roster of accomplished women commanded the stage, sharing their raw experiences and offering practical insights designed to bridge the chasm between ambition and decisive action.
Executive Director of the Savannah Women Integrated Development Agency (SWIDA) and Special Guest of Honour, Hajia Alima Sagito Saeed, stressed that collaborative efforts are the most direct route to accelerating goals.
Executive Chef Faila, celebrated for her Guinness World Record Cook-A-Thon attempt, stressed the uncompromising discipline and strategic timing essential for achieving high-level accomplishments and forging a strong personal brand.
Taking her turn, Khadija Yussif (Chef Dee) and Humu-Hani, Founder of Assistance Hub, empowered attendees, sharing actionable strategies for cultivating innate talents alongside the essential acquisition of modern digital skills.
Ghana’s Most Beautiful Winner 2024 and Founder, Ecogreen Cases Legacy, Nihad Titiaka, leveraged her considerable influence for a call to action on environmental stewardship, challenging every attendee to become an agent of green change.
Iddrisu Khadijah, a young female private pilot, motivated students to shatter the glass ceiling. She shared her immense setbacks and triumphs in achieving a rare feat, passionately advocating that young women must look beyond traditional and male-dominated career fields.
The student participants in the highly interactive sessions asked various questions and expressed satisfaction with the value of knowledge and leadership skills received from their mentors, expressing a desire to strive for success both in academics and social life.
Mrs. Ibrahim, speaking to the media after the maiden IWC, said, “The emotions around the engagement at Red Clay were truly remarkable. This conference was designed with a lot of intention for the transfer of knowledge for our attendees, especially the young ones, to be intentional about their future. The synergy between the speakers’ message and the attendees’ reaction was truly proof of a defining moment.”
Gratitude & The Path Ahead
KDF extends deep appreciation to its partners: Ghana Education Service Northern Directorate, Electroland Ghana Limited (EGL), Passion Air, Red Clay, and all participating schools.
Buoyed by the powerful connections forged, the foundation is already channeling this momentum into building an even more impactful sequel.
Incorporated in 2020, KDF builds capacity through focused education, essential skills development training, and crucial welfare support.
KDF firmly believes that investing in female capital empowers and equips women to become individuals of value and substance, thereby creating a truly equitable society for all.
