Items worth thousands of Cedis were destroyed early Wednesday morning at the Ho Market in the Volta Region, after stores were razed by fire.
The fire, reportedly started this dawn at 5:00 am, and swept through three shops and three warehouses filled with cosmetics, Unilever products, rubber products, footwear and secondhand clothes.

It is unclear what caused the fire, but eyewitnesses told Citi News they suspect it emanated from a nearby refuse site where some of the garbage were in flames.
