Professor Mrs. Smile Dzisi, the Vice-Chancellor of the Koforidua Technical University (KTU), in the Eastern Region, has challenged staff of the university to develop innovative ideas and programs that can transform the institution.
Speaking at an event held to honor long-serving staff of the university, Professor Mrs. Smile Dzisi called on both teaching, and non-teaching staff to develop innovative proposals to improve the performance of the university.
This was the 5th consecutive ceremony the university has held to honor deserving staff. Citations and cash prizes were given to the selected employees.
In all, 39 teaching and non-teaching staff who have rendered quality long services were rewarded. They included 28 junior staff, six senior staff and five senior members.
Professor Dzisi said “these staff members that we are celebrating today have helped to make the university’s vision a reality. I am full of pride to state that KTU is blessed with hardworking and dedicated staff members, management is cognizant of the fact that our growth and success are dependent on devoted and capable team members such as you, and we want to recognize the contributions you have made in helping us achieve our goals”.
“To continue to inspire and recognize hard work and innovation, management has plans to institute awards for staff who would come out with innovative ideas and products to the development of the university, and I challenge you all to work hard for you will be appreciated, rewarded and celebrated.”
Launch of KTU’s official cloth
Management of the University also used the opportunity to unveil an official cloth which will be used to celebrate the university’s 20th anniversary which was launched a few months ago.
At the unveiling, Professor Mrs. Smile Dzisi indicated that the corporate cloth is another initiative to uniquely re-brand the institution.
“This cloth will help build the university’s corporate identity, identify and uniquely present the university to its stakeholders and bind it’s members together. We are excited to outdoor this beautiful KTU cloth at this ceremony in appreciation of the hard work and commitment of staff of KTU” she noted.
