The Ghana Police Service has confirmed earlier reports by Citi News that Menzgold CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM 1, is indeed under arrest in Dubai.
According to the Ghana Police service, they were informed on the arrest by Nana Appiah Mensah by Emirati Officials based in Dubai on Sunday, 13th January.
The statement however revealed that, NAM 1 was arrested as at 7th December 2019.
His Arrest according to the Police statement is to facilitate investigation into claims he had been involved in a scandalous gold trading deal in Dubai.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of the Public Affairs, ACP David Eklu, the Ghana Police service is engaging authorities in Dubai on the next steps on the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah.
The Police service further assured the public that due processes will be followed to bring closure on this matter.
