Bimbilla: EP College of Education holds graduation

Over 2,700 students of the EP College of Education, Bimbilla have been conferred with Diploma in Basic Education.

The graduates consisted of five cohorts from 2014 to 2018 students of both the Untrained Teacher Trainees in Diploma in Basic Education (UTTDBE) and the regular students.

Addressing the graduands, the Principal of the college Ibrahim James Gurundow M-Minibo told them to be good ambassadors in the society.

“You should exceed average standards and expectations wherever you find yourselves. I charge you to be worthy ambassadors of your alma mater. Show to society that there is the difference between you and others in the way you act, and react, the way you work and the way you think,’’ he said.

The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed told the graduates that the government was sourcing funding to address the infrastructure deficits in the senior high school across the country.

“On the part of the infrastructure for the free Senior High School, the government has sourced funding and currently we are awarding projects to solve the infrastructure deficits so that come 2020 academic year, our students, the Double Track system, we want to work consciously to bring it back to a single track. So support us to be able to do that.’’

He also challenged the graduands to support the government flagship policy the Free Senior High School.

” We need your support, the theories and concepts that you have learnt, this is the best time for you to go and apply it to our younger brothers and sisters.’’

The College is currently running a four-year Bachelor of Education Program (B-Ed) to replace the three-year Diploma in Education Program.

The College is affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology for institutional support in curriculum and capacity building.

Some distinguished individuals have been honoured for their outstanding efforts and immense contribution towards the infrastructure development of the college.
