President John Mahama led AU Election Observation Mission to Mawali to meet the four of the presidential candidates ahead of Mawuli’s presidential tripartite election on Tuesday.
The meeting was held on Sunday.
He will later, today [Monday] after meeting with other Heads of Mission and the Malawi Electoral Commission, have a meeting with the remaining candidates.
Seven candidates including the incumbent, President Arthur Peter Mutharika, are contesting the presidential elections.
Mahama has led electoral observation in Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, Liberia and many other African countries.
On May 21st 2019, Malawi will hold its tripartite elections.
Malawi has been holding a multi-party election for 25 years now since one-party regime presided Hastings Kamuzu Banda ended in 1994.
