A two-hour downpour on Wednesday afternoon has resulted in floods across the capital, Accra.
Some commuters and drivers have been left stranded as a result of the rains which started around 1:30 pm and left some roads in the city unmotorable.
Some of the areas affected include the Tettey Quarshie Interchange, Spintex, the Dome Pillar 2 road, the Sahara park in Adabraka, Ablekuma, parts of Teshie, the Obestebi Lamptey roundabout and parts of Dzorwulu
Heavy rains in the capital, more often than not, result in reports of flooding across Accra, with many attributing the perennial occurrence to the siting of structures on waterways, and blocking of drainage systems, a situation that forces rushing flood waters onto the streets and into homes.
Many Ghanaians have since taken to social media to express their concerns and share photos and videos of flooding in the capital.

Less than an hour rain #accrafloods instead of our leaders to find solutions, They’re always thinking about next election but not next generations. #African we need leaders like #Rwanda #President. pic.twitter.com/NbABb4audM

Last month some parts of the capital city were submerged in water after a downpour.
Some places including the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, Kaneshie and Avenor, among others, were flooded.
Running water spilt from choked drains onto the roads at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange and left pedestrians with no choice but to wade through the water which had risen to knee level.
