Unregulated clay mining activities in the Shama District to feed the Twyford Ceramics factory at Daboase and other plants in the Western Region have resulted in serious degradation of arable wetlands.
Residents and chiefs who spoke to Citi News said the unreclaimed pits left behind by the clay miners have become receptacles, posing danger to the lives of children.
