Management of Citi FM through The Citi FM Foundation has cut sod for the construction of a girls dormitory for the Baptist School Complex and Orphanage (BASCO), at Trotor near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
The 30-bed capacity project is in fulfilment of the station’s commitment to see many of the orphaned girls who cannot be accepted into the institution due to lack of space to be admitted.
The sod-cutting ceremony was held on Monday, April 26, 2021, for construction works to commence.
It was done by the Chief Executive Officer of Citi FM/Citi TV, Mr. Samuel Attah-Mensah.
Present at the sod-cutting ceremony were Omane Mensa-Bonsu, Business Development Manager for Citi FM/Citi TV, Kojo Akoto Boateng, Coordinator for the project, Kafui Kuwornoo, Coordinator for the Citi FM Foundation and Rev. Victor Amoah, Director of BASCO.
BASCO is a private school complex, and also home to about 80 orphaned children, of which the majority are boys.
Over the years, the Citi FM Foundation has supported the orphanage with cash donations, stationery, food items, toiletries, and other domestic items collected from the station’s listeners and viewers, who make generous contributions towards the project.
Dormitory project
The BASCO girls’ dormitory project is expected to be completed in three months.
The Citi FM Foundation is therefore seeking the help of its cherished listeners and viewers to assist in this noble cause.
Contributions can be made to the Mobile Money Number: 0550 900 006.
Cheques should be written to: THE CITI FM Foundation. Alternatively, donations can be made at the front desk of Citi FM and Citi TV, behind the Adabraka Police Station, in Accra.
