President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, to temporarily serve as caretaker Minister of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
According to a statement from the presidency, the Gender Minister, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is having her leave of absence extended.
“The Minister sought leave of absence for personal reasons,” the statement noted.
It is unclear when Ms. Safo first went on leave.
But her leave was supposed to have ended on August 31.
“In her absence, and until further notice, President Akufo-Addo has directed the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, to act as caretaker Minister for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection,” the statement added.
