Some aggrieved members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region have threatened to protest at the party’s National Delegates Conference over claims that promises made to provide them with jobs were not fulfilled.
The aggrieved members, calling themselves NPP Identifiable Groups, gave the NPP in the Ashanti Region until Friday to dialogue with them.
The NPP is scheduled to host its National Delegates Conference in Kumasi from Saturday, December 18, 2021, to Monday, December 20, 2021.
Convener for the NPP Identifiable Groups, Emmanuel Ampiah Mensah, said “we have done a lot for this party, and we are expecting something meaningful.”
“A lot of people have secured jobs, but as I am speaking, none of us have received even a contract. I want the [Regional NPP] to come and meet us, so we will express our problem to them.”
“Our kids are suffering. We ourselves are suffering,” Mr. Menash complained further.
“If we do not hear anything from the regional executives, we will advise ourselves. First, we will demonstrate. Secondly, we will sit back. We will never work for this party again,” Mr. Mensah said.
