The union executive members and shop stewards of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), under the umbrella of the Maritime and Dockworkers Union of the TUC, has organised a three-day training course for its members in Takoradi. The secretary of the local union of Takoradi, Mr Frank B.D. Essilfie, charged the executive members and the shop stewards to unite towards the common vision of fulfilling the aspirations of workers for the benefit of mother Ghana. On his part, the outgoing training manager of Takoradi Port, Mr Maxwell Sarpong, charged the union executive to provide leadership examples for others to emulate adding that; “As leaders you have a responsibility to inspire your followers to achieve the organisation’s goal of productivity, safety work methods, profitability and excellenceâ€. He further advised that “you should engage yourself in healthy positive discussions that will propel the company to greater achievementsâ€.
