President Akufo-Addo and Jack Ma
The visitors’ book of President Akufo-Addo last week received a boost when outstanding martial arts maestro Jet Li from China, Chinese billionaire Jack Ma and the former UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, called.
The famous personalities, all of whom hail from Asia, were in the country in connection with the Africa Netpreneur Prize initiative promoted by Jack Ma in Africa, and driven by his Jack Ma Foundation.
Jack Ma is a Chinese business magnate, investor, politician and philanthropist. He is the co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group, a multinational technology conglomerate.
Ban Ki-Moon who hails from South Korea visited the graveside of his predecessor, the late and former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, to pay his respects to the fallen Ghanaian global icon.
Li Lianjie, better known by his stage name, Jet Li, is a Chinese film actor, film producer, martial artist, and retired Wushu Champion born in Beijing. He is a naturalized Singaporean citizen.
The three alongside other renowned world players attended the maiden Africa Netpreneur Conference, a Jack Ma Foundation initiative held in Accra under the theme: “The Rise of Africa’s Entrepreneur Heroes.”
The Presidency was a very busy place last week as the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, and key members of her government also paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo.
