There are still many skeptics out there who are refusing to believe COVID-19 pandemic is real, and it is believed some of these people are the reason the virus keeps spreading.
This is because majority of them don’t follow the safety protocols to stem the spread.
Actress Helen Asante, who has joined the advocacy against the spread of COVID-19, has been cautioning her followers not to be oblivious of the fact that the virus indeed exists.
In an Instagram post she shared over the weekend, she disclosed that a dear friend lost the mother to COVID-19.
As a result, she appealed to all to protect themselves against the deadly virus by wearing their face masks in particular because “it’s no joke.”
“There is a pandemic! …believe it or not, is important for us to keep safe. My friend’s mother just died of COVID-19. It’s no joke … please let’s all endeavour to wear our nose mask and to observe all protocols. (prayer emoji) #staysafe,” she wrote under her photo wearing face mask.
Helen has joined a number of the country’s showbiz personalities who have since the pandemic outbreak been campaigning on various platforms for citizens to follow the safety protocols for COVID-19.
Currently Ghana has been witnessing what seems to be the second wave of COVID-19 surge. President Akufo-Addo in his last address to the nation on COVID-19 warned he would be re-imposing restriction on movement should the surge in active COVID-19 cases persist.
