The People’s National Convention (PNC) has threatened legal action against the organizers of the #OccupyBoGProtest scheduled for Tuesday, October 3.
According to a statement released by the General Secretary of the PNC, Janet Asana Nabla, the party is not part of the demonstration and demands that its name be removed from the flyer promoting the protest.
Ms. Nabla described the inclusion of the party’s name on the flyer without prior consultation as an act of disrespect.
The march is being led by the Minority in Parliament, who had given the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Yedu Addison, 21 days to resign after recording GH¢60.8 billion in its 2022 financial books.
The police had earlier secured a court injunction against the protest, but an agreement was reached for the third date on Tuesday, October 3.
Some civil society groups including Arise Ghana and COPEC are also expected to join the demonstration.
