The Council of State begins electoral processes today to elect ten people who will represent each of the ten regions in the country.
“From today to Saturday all who qualify to be elected can go and pick their nomination forms and fill,” Mr Yusif Alhassan Ayuba, Deputy Director of Communications at the Electoral Commission (EC), said in an interview on a local radio station in Accra.
He stated that the District Assemblies will select two people each to vote on February 9 this year and nomination forms would be submitted between January 17 and 19 at the regional offices of the Commission.
He underlined criteria for people who can pick the forms, “The person should first and foremost be a Ghanaian, should have a sound mind, should be a voter and should come from the region in which they are contesting.”
The forms should also be submitted together with four passport sized photographs.
Mr Ayuba said after submission of forms, it will be processed for those who qualify to be voted for.
