Osei's late goal sinks Dwarfs
Kumasi, March 30, GNA King Faisals Franklin Osei scored a brilliant goal in the 89th minute to snatch victory for his side as they beat bottom-placed Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1 in their First Capital Plus Premier League match at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, on Sunday. The well-struck goal, coming from the left-foot of substitute Osei, could ostensibly compete for goal of the season, considering the distance and the technique used in the process. It was a counter attack adopted by Faisal, which found the striker, who was lurking in the vital area, who intercepted a pass, dummied two Dwarfs defenders and unleashed a 25-yarder shot which initially hit the post before entering the yawning net. An elated Faisal Coach Dorian Marin could not help but punch the air in excitement to celebrate the goal which also threw the Stadium into frenzy. The match saw Faisal taking the lead in the 43rd minute courtesy Samuel Moyah, but Dwarfs responded swiftly by fetching the equalizer on the stroke of half time. It was Frederick Boateng who levelled the scores for the visitors, lobbing the ball over advancing goalie Iddrisu Ibrahim in a swift counter-attack. Both relegation-threatened teams came into the second half with determination and Dwarfs, however, had the better part of the exchanges and wasted some decent chances in the 60th, 65th and 71st minutes. Faisal threw caution to the wind, in the dying minutes, attacked their opponents in droves and succeeded in scoring the match winner with some few minutes to end proceedings.GNA
