Seven suspects in ethnic clashes remanded
Tamale, April 8, GNA- Seven suspects had been arrested following the renewed ethic clashes in East Mamprusi last week had been remanded in prison custody by a Tamale district court on Monday.They are to reappear before the court on 27th April, 2014.Assistant Superintendant of Police (ASP) Ebenezer Tetteh, the Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, who briefed the GNA, said the suspects had been charged with possessing fire arms without lawful authority, causing harm and conspiracy to commit murder.He said the security personnel who effected the arrests retrieved three AK47 rifles, three locally made guns, a pistol and one G3 from the suspects.It would be recalled that some three persons were shot and wounded while 16 houses were torched at Bongini, a village near Sakogu in the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District, when Bimobas allegedly attacked the area last Thursday dawn.GNA
